Job Description

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must meet job posting eligibility requirements per company policy.

  • Previous Quality experience preferred.

MAIN JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates and follow through on sample submissions involving initial samples, engineering changes, prototypes and pilots.
  • Prepares all sample submission documentation and submits to appropriate customer personnel.
  • Communicates with and offers guidance and training to production associates and quality technicians.
  • Reviews all supplier PPAP information and is responsible for acceptance or rejection.
  • Prepares and updates inspection instructions, first piece set-up reports, incoming inspection reports, fixture certification, control plans and other necessary documentation.
  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Addresses and follows through on in-house and customer issues.
  • Performs periodic LPA audits and follows up on activities.
  • Assures that all corrective actions are submitted on a timely basis to the customer and that all preventive actions are verified to prevent recurrence of the issue.
  • Supports and maintains the team’s 5S excellence and adherence.
  • Supports the improvement of safety, quality, housekeeping, teamwork improvement activities, attendance, and administrative procedures.
  • Supports and maintains cost reduction through a systematic approach to identify and eliminate waste with continuous improvement in all processes and products provided by the company.
  • Support company initiatives such as: TS16949 & ISO 14001 compliance and TPM for the production area
  • Supports the planning and implementing of corrective actions for targets that are not met.
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
  • Travels to customers and suppliers as necessary.
  • Works with other quality personnel to develop and implement an ongoing Quality Training Program.
  • Punctual and regular attendance is required.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all duties.
  • Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
