Job Description

This position is for Oakland Stamping (a division of L&W Group) located in Detroit, Michigan.

This candidate directs, administers, and coordinates activities at the plant level in support of corporate policies, goals, and objectives, to maximize the efficiency and profitability of stamping plant performance, producing 100% conformance to customer requirements, while maintaining the highest quality of work life environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors:

  • Increases management's effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching and counseling managers; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities.
  • Directs facility manufacturing activities and oversees all associates at assigned facility.
  • Accomplishes facility objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress and making mid-course corrections when necessary.
  • Coordinates cooperation efforts of all staff managers in establishing best practices for the facility, while providing leadership and vision for the facility.
  • Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and associates; enforcing ethical business practices.
  • Maintains quality levels by establishing and enforcing organization standards of quality control, regulatory compliance and safety standards • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
