L&W Engineering a successful Tier One Automotive Supplier, is currently seeking an experienced Production Coordinator – Stamping to work at our Plant 2 – Belleville, MI location on 2nd shift. We offer competitive wages and a great benefits package!

We are looking for candidates to supervises and coordinates activities of the production departments including press, assembly and welding functions to meet production schedules and quality standards by performing the following duties.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, coordinates and prioritizes activities of production personnel to meet customer, plant and management requirements.
  • Interprets specifications and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
  • Ensures effective utilization of manpower to minimize overtime requirements.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Observes workers and machines to detect errors or malfunctions and orders corrective actions.
  • Ensures daily communication of relevant events is completed daily from shift to shift. 
  • Maintains production, quality and timekeeping reports and records accurately.
  • Examines products for adherence to specification and processes for adherence to standards.
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
  • Troubleshoots Production and Quality problems with Production (5Why), Tooling and Quality personnel.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Directs and leads CI improvement projects/meetings.
  • Direct, lead, and maintain the team’s 5S excellence and adherence. 
  • Ability to communicate with large groups (present in department meetings, training, plantwides, etc).
  • Continue the growth and learning process of his/her team members through sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Able to have punctual and regular attendance is required.
  • Able and willing to work any shift assigned.
  • Directs all NCF product and schedule to make parts useable.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all duties.
  • Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
  • Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.


Manages associates in Production.  This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit they carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Must be able to work any shifts assigned and weekends
  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • Previous experience working with Stamping presses.
  • Microsoft Office at a beginning level
  • Effective email and electronic communication skills are required
  • Responsible for reading and understanding the IATF16949, ISO9001:2015 and ISO-14001procedures

Education and/or Experience: 

  • High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); 3-5 years of supervisory experience with an understanding of welding, stamping and automated assembly process.
