Job Description

L&W Engineering has a great opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Coordinator at our manufacturing facility in Detroit, Michigan.

Candidate will supervises and coordinate maintenance to ensure that sufficient resources are available to meet customer requirements.

  • Communicates and promotes departmental goals.
  • Trains new and existing associates to keep them up to date on new equipment, policies and procedures.
  • Supervise maintenance to ensure that sufficient resources are available to meet customer requirements
  • Assigns work orders to be completed daily.
  • Prepares requisitions and makes arrangements as required to assure availability of all needed materials, parts, supplies, tools and equipment for each in-process job or project assigned.
  • Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to identify causes of malfunctions.
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to study problem area.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts.
  • Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches.
  • Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe.
  • Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
  • Repairs broken parts.
  • Modifies computer controlled motion of robot.
  • Assists Engineer to modify sketches or computer generated designs.
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)
  • Punctual and regular attendance is required.
  • Able and willing to work any shift assigned.
  • Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Conform to TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards and procedures.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A journeyman’s card is preferred.
